30 lakh tickets sold on National Cinema Day Stree 2 and Yudhra dominated

National Cinema Day turned out to be a massive success with a total of 3 million tickets sold across theaters. Among the various films screened on this occasion, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's **'Stree 2'** dominated the box office, emerging as the highest-grossing film of the day. The horror-comedy raked in ₹4.60 crore on its sixth Friday, with around 500,000 people flocking to theaters to watch the movie.

 **'Yudhra' Follows Closely**

The latest release starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, **'Yudhra'**, also performed well at the box office on National Cinema Day. After **'Stree 2'**, 'Yudhra' became the second most-watched movie, earning ₹4.25 crore. With approximately 450,000 tickets sold, the action-thriller made a significant mark on its opening day.

**'Tumbbad' Sees a 40% Surge in Collections**

The horror film **'Tumbbad'**, which was re-released in theaters, saw a 40% increase in its earnings on National Cinema Day. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the movie grossed ₹2.60 crore on Friday, with 275,000 viewers turning up at cinemas to watch it. With this re-release, 'Tumbbad' has crossed ₹15 crore at the box office, breaking its own previous records. Initially released in 2018, the movie had earned ₹12.44 crore during its original run. The re-release saw the film collect ₹1.60 crore on its first day and ₹2.60 crore on the second day.

 **'Stree 2' Approaching ₹600 Crore Club**

**'Stree 2'**, which hit theaters on August 15, continues to perform steadily even after 37 days of release. Despite a slower pace now, the movie is gradually making its way toward the ₹600 crore club. The film had a strong start and remains a crowd-puller on special occasions like National Cinema Day.

### **'Kahaan Shuru Kahaan Khatam' Debuts**

Dhvani Bhanushali's debut film, **'Kahaan Shuru Kahaan Khatam'**, made an impressive start, earning ₹1 crore on its first day of release. It remains to be seen if the movie can sustain its momentum and double its budget in earnings.

### **Other Films Perform Well**

The Marathi film **'Navra Maza Navsacha 2'** also made a good impression, grossing over ₹2 crore on its opening day. **Thalapathy Vijay's 'The GOAT'** sold around 200,000 tickets on its third Friday across all its versions. Meanwhile, Punjabi films like **'Gandhi 3,' 'BB Rajni,' and 'Ardaas 3'** collectively sold over 110,000 tickets. The re-released **'Veer-Zaara,' 'Khel Khel Mein,' and 'Buckingham Murders'** together earned ₹7.5 million on National Cinema Day.

This year's National Cinema Day proved to be a lucrative event for the Indian film industry, with several movies seeing a significant boost in their box office collections, drawing large crowds to theaters across the country.
