In a recent development, former actress 'A,' aged 28, and entertainment establishment manager 'B,' aged 29, have been handed over to the prosecution on charges of extortion involving actor Lee Sun Gyun. The Incheon Police Narcotics Crime Investigation Division revealed the charges on January 5, following an extensive investigation.
According to the police statement, both 'A' and 'B' face charges related to extortion and attempted extortion, with their cases forwarded to the prosecution for further legal proceedings. Remarkably, investigators concluded that the two individuals acted independently rather than collaboratively in their criminal activities.
The investigation uncovered that 'A' allegedly demanded a substantial sum of 200 million KRW (approximately 152,120 USD) from Lee Sun Gyun in October of the previous year. It is reported that she employed threats against the actor and succeeded in extorting 50 million KRW (approximately 38,030 USD).
Interestingly, despite lacking a personal connection with Lee Sun Gyun, 'A' took an alarming approach by threatening the actor. She allegedly stated, "I will have 'B' arrested for drug use, and I need to receive money," adding, "Recover the entire 300 million KRW given to 'B' and let's settle with the 200 million KRW for me."
The police investigation has shed light on a complex web of extortion, with 'A' and 'B' seemingly operating independently but connected through their illicit activities. As the legal process unfolds, the entertainment industry and the public eagerly await further details surrounding this shocking case involving one of South Korea's renowned actors, Lee Sun Gyun.
