Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom Makes Waves at Box Office, Surges to 5 Crores in Week 2 with Jason Momoa Leading the Charge

In the midst of the December cinematic clash, Hollywood's Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, directed by James Wan and featuring a star-studded cast including Jason Momoa, Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, and Nicole Kidman, embarked on its journey at the India box office. Despite facing tough competition from two Indian heavyweights, the sci-fi fantasy flick managed a commendable opening of Rs. 4.50 crores.

However, the film encountered a challenging trajectory from the second day onward, struggling to regain momentum. Never surpassing the Rs. 3 crores mark on any subsequent day after its debut, the movie grappled with visibility issues exacerbated by the concurrent releases of Dunki and Salaar.

As the initial week concluded, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom garnered Rs. 17.02 crores, reflecting a decent but not stellar performance. The second week witnessed a decline, with a collection of Rs. 5.27 crores, bringing the total to Rs. 22.29 crores. The film faced an uphill battle amid the absence of major Hindi releases until Fighter graces the screens on January 25.

Despite the hurdles, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom stands as a testament to the endurance of Hollywood blockbusters in the diverse and competitive Indian cinema landscape. As the dust settles, the film awaits its fate in the coming weeks, navigating the cinematic tides with Jason Momoa leading the charge.
