Ajay Devgn Returns as IRS Officer as 'Raid 2' Shoot Commences, on November Release

Mumbai, January 6, 2024 - After the resounding success of the 2018 crime thriller 'Raid,' Bollywood stalwart Ajay Devgn is gearing up to reprise his role as IRS Officer Amay Patnaik in the much-anticipated sequel, 'Raid 2.' The official announcement of the film's commencement and its slated release date of November 15, 2024, has sent waves of excitement through Devgn's fanbase.

Directed once again by Raj Kumar Gupta, the filmmaker behind the first installment, 'Raid 2' is currently in production with backing from Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of T-Series and Panorama Studios, respectively.

**A Glimpse into the Original 'Raid':**  

The first 'Raid' film, also starring Saurabh Shukla and Ileana D’Cruz, was based on a real-life raid conducted by the Income Tax Department in the 1980s. Saurabh Shukla portrayed a corrupt MP who cleverly concealed his ill-gotten gains in various obscure locations, such as ceilings, walls, and a specially constructed pillar. Ileana played the role of Ajay's wife in the film. The soulful track "Sanu Ek Pal Chain" by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan from the film gained widespread popularity.
